Christian Legal Aid Summit Scholarship Application

Christian Legal Society (CLS) is pleased to offer scholarship funds for attorneys to attend the 2026 Christian Legal Aid (CLA) Summit (October 8), the CLS National Conference (October 8-11), or both.

What is the difference between the Summit and the national conference?

The CLA Summit occurs prior to the start of the CLS National Conference and is focused exclusively on content relevant to CLA clinics. Most CLA Summit attendees stay for the full national conference, which focuses on a wide variety of issues concerning Christians engaged in the practice of law across the entire legal spectrum. Both events are held at the same hotel but involve separate registrations and fees.

Who is eligible?

You must complete registration for the 2026 CLA Summit and be a current staff member or regular volunteer at an affiliated CLA clinic to be eligible. If you do not know if you are part of an affiliated CLA, clinic please see Christian Legal Aid Directory Map – Christian Legal Society.

What if I want to attend because I am interested in starting a CLA clinic?

We would love you to join the CLA Summit. Please apply and your request will be reviewed.

When will applicants be notified if funds are awarded?

Applicants will be notified of their application status within three weeks of submitting their application.

When and how are funds disbursed?

CLA Summit scholarships will be paid by check and distributed to recipients at the CLA Summit.

Are there any additional requirements?

Applicants who are awarded funds must be present at CLA Summit check in and stay for the entirety of the Summit.
