About:
I have been practicing law for 59 years in Longmont, Colorado. For the first 32 years, I practiced with Flanders, Sonnesyn, and Stover. For the last 29 years, I have been practicing as a solo practitioner. In 59 years, I’ve experienced most aspects of what can be conceivably imagined as law practice, but my emphasis has largely been on Estate Planning and Administration, Natural Resources, including Water law and Oil and Gas, and Real Estate law, including Land Development and Zoning. My goal is to concentrate on being an outstanding Christian law firm. Presently, I have two part-time paralegals. I spend time turning down new clients and referring people to other specialists when necessary. Since becoming a Christian in 1993, I have been teaching classes concentrated on Christian apologetics issues including Progressive Christianity, Critical Theory, New Age, World Religions, Reasons to Believe, and Financial Freedom. I’ve taught at several churches, Colorado Christian University, University of Colorado and Denver University Christian Legal Societies. The last 17 years, I have been teaching what is known as our summer “Brown Bag Bible Study.” This started out in my office and I have been blessed to recruit first-class teachers and apologists including Dr. Douglas Groothuis, Robert Velarde, Sharon Beekmann, Sarah Geis, Paul Ernst, and many others who have published extensively in the apologetics field. The class teaches to approximately 60 different students every summer, including pastors of 9 denominations. Many say our class is unique. In addition, I have reduced my 32-odd years of teaching into a book entitled “…LIKE GOD? Postmodern Infatuation with New Age and Neo-Spiritism,” Xulon (2022) see the trailer on my Martindale-Hubbell link above. Longmont has been a very good place to grow and raise children. We have six children and fourteen grandchildren. Longmont has approximately 100,000 residents and is growing. It is 12 miles from Boulder, Colorado. Growth along the Front Range will continue. Colorado has a great climate and is known for its biking and skiing opportunities. These outdoor activities command our attention along with teaching apologetics and attending Precept Bible Studies. My wife, Deana, has been teaching Precept Ministries classes for 22 years.
