Description:
Reports to: Pastor/Head of staff- The immediate supervisor is the pastor of the church, who is the head of staff. In addition, the Facilities Manager coordinates with the Chairperson of the property committee.
Position Objective: The Facilities Manager is responsible for the maintenance, security and cleanliness of the property to ensure that it meets the needs of the church and its members.
Hours of Work: This is a full-time 40-hour a week position. Duties are typically performed on weekdays, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Availability for emergency response to issues arising for either building or grounds is essential. Be present at certain special events as requested by the Pastor/Head of staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintenance
1) Maintain the physical plant of the church, and exercise judgment and discretion to accomplish the duties of this position in cooperation with the activities and ministry of the church and its staff.
2) Maintain all physical property in the church other than any musical instruments, computers or related hardware.
3) Maintain a regular schedule of preventive maintenance to accomplish the duties of this position.
4) Conduct regular inspections of the buildings to assess cleanliness and to properly and timely anticipate repair needs.
5) Ability to diagnose and perform basic repairs for electrical, plumbing, roofing, carpentry, masonry, and painting. Working knowledge of repair tools and techniques
6) Administers building security, controls access keys and codes, and responds to activated alarms
7) Collaborate with staff to schedule routine maintenance projects, routine vendor activities, and inspections. Establishing and updating a maintenance calendar
8) Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment owned by the church
9) In conjunction with the Property Committee, prepare 3–5-year plans for equipment and facility upgrades
10) Ensures safety devices such as AED, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and emergency lights are operational and inspected as required
11) Serve as primary contact for facility-related emergencies, which may require off-hour work. (nights, Sat etc)
12) Make sure all church equipment, i.e. ladders, tables, chairs are properly maintained and stored appropriately
13) Respond to requests of staff, the Property Committee, and the Trustees for building maintenance or repair issues; any questions concerning any specific request should be discussed with the Pastor/Head of Staff.
14) Become familiar with the policies and procedures manual of Pine Street Presbyterian Church and maintain said manual.
Custodial
15) Regular custodial work in sanctuary, offices, kitchen, restrooms, church exterior, parking lot, garden, and classrooms, to be supplemented by outside agency and or part-time custodial staff. This includes but is not limited to cleaning restrooms, sweeping, dusting, washing windows, trash removal, carpet cleaning, floor cleaning and related functions.
16) Arrange for remedial cleaning, if necessary, because of programming needs in any building or room.
17) Conduct an orderly bid process, in consultation with the Property Committee and the Pastor/Head of Staff, for repairs and other services requiring third party involvement.
Admin
18) Order all supplies relating to the duties of this position.
19) Process invoices for all supplies and services ordered, as well as for all utilities and other building-related services and expenses.
20) Responsible for a Pine Street Church credit card. Submit receipts for all purchased to reconcile purchases. Receipts are submitted to Accounts Payable monthly.
21) Attend weekly staff meetings.
22) Attend and serve as the staff representative to the Property Committee of the Board of Trustees, attending monthly Trustees meetings.
23) Oversee the performance of any contracted entity or individual performing maintenance, or repair services in the buildings.
Other duties
24) Work collegially with and provide support to other staff members.
25) Complete all assignments in an efficient, consistent, and timely manner.
26) Other duties as assigned.

Able to work independently as well as within a team, is organized and can be flexible.
Compensation:
The annual compensation ranges from $48,000 to $51,000, depending on experience. An annual review will be conducted with the head of staff and personnel committee. Salary and Benefits for this position is currently approved as a salaried full-time position, for 40 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications:
The facility manager must be a high school graduate with at least five years of previous experience as a facilities manager or an equivalent job. Good communication skills that enable the facility manager to communicate effectively with vendors, staff and members of the church. Knowledge of physical plant and systems such as HVAC, electric, steam and other utility providers. The facilities manager must be committed to the purpose and mission of Pine Street Presbyterian Church.

• Performing physical activities such as: climbing, bending, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and handling of materials.
• Ability to lift/carry, up to approximately 50 pounds frequently, and occasional lifting/carrying of equipment weighing up to approximately 75 pounds may be required.
• Physical mobility and endurance to perform tasks while standing/walking for long periods of time.
• The ability to safely work with power tools such as drills and saws.
