The ministry assistant will be commissioned to assist with office administration. Tasks will include light bookkeeping, mail processing, and phone and email interaction with our constituents. The ideal candidate will be competent in prioritizing and working with little supervision and be very computer literate (Microsoft Office, PBX/VoIP systems, project management programs, QuickBooks, etc.). This person will be self-motivated and trustworthy.
Major Ministerial Duties:
- Cultivate a mature, fruitful relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Faithfully pray for discernment of the Holy Spirit in how CLS can witness the love and justice of God to a watching world.
- Participate and lead on occasion staff corporate prayer and Bible Study.
- Works closely with the COO, CFO, and CEO.
- Under the COO’s direction, coordinate office activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance to CLS policies.
- Manage agendas, travel arrangements, appointments, and related for the CEO as needed.
- Manage phone calls and correspondence (e-mail, letters, packages, etc.).
- Under the CFO’s direction, support mail processing and in-office bookkeeping procedures.
- Scanning and filing of correspondence
- Track inventory of office supplies and place orders when necessary.
- Monitor the organization’s main email account and other email inboxes as needed.
Qualifications:
- Able to sincerely affirm CLS Statement of Faith, Mission, Core Values and conduct oneself, by God’s grace, in manner worthy of Christ and consistent with our understanding of the Bible.
- A bachelor’s degree in administration or other relevant field is a plus but demonstrated experience in lieu of education is acceptable.
- Proven experience as an office administrator, clerical assistant, or relevant role; familiarity with office management procedures and basic accounting principles.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; must be able to handle public callers and inquiries with grace and efficiency.
- Self-starter, able to work independently, and entrepreneurial but able to collaborate with an extensive leadership team; enjoys creating and implementing new ideas and initiatives.
- Proficient in most Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel); experience with the following is a plus: BlackBaud, Asana, Vonage or other VoIP system, Zoom, Cvent.
- Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects with minimal supervision but be flexible and versatile to work in a team setting when needed.
- Ability to work with strict confidentiality requirements, as well as utilize good judgment in the preparation and distribution of confidential information.
Salary or salary range: $20-25/hr. This is a part-time position (20 hours per week). This position is in-office, remote working is not available.
