SUMMARY:2025 Southwest Regional Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Hilton Garden Inn (Carlsbad, CA)\n\nView Agenda\n\nThis retreat will gather attorneys and law students from all over the southwest, including California and Arizona.\nThe retreat will include great opportunities for fellowship, networking, prayer and encouragement. Registration includes two nights of lodging, breakfast on Saturday, as well as Saturday night dinner. Lunch on Saturday will be on your own. Dinner will be on your own Friday night (but we usually go out as a group to a local spot). William McCurine (Ret.)\nJudge McCurine was appointed a Federal Magistrate Judge for The Southern District of California in 2004. After more than 10 years of service, he retired from the bench where he handled all types of civil matters, including, but not limited to, class actions (involving wage & hour issues), insurance matters, allegations of fraud and unfair business practices, complex commercial matters, catastrophic injuries, medical malpractice, and patent, copyright and trademark issues. Prior to the bench, he was a civil trial attorney representing plaintiffs and defendants for over 30 years. Judge McCurine earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School and is an Oxford University Rhodes Scholar. \nJudge McCurine and his wife Dana McCurine are teachers with Bible Study Fellowship. Judge McCurine is a frequent sought-after speaker at his church, at men’s events around the country, and elsewhere. Judge McCurine has a passion for teaching and living biblical principles. \nJudge McCurine will be speaking at the Saturday and Sunday sessions from Luke 16:1-13, the parable of the dishonest steward. Judge McCurine will be presenting principles for living and working in the marketplace, and serving the Kingdom. \n\nDavid Nammo is the Executive Director and CEO of Christian Legal Society where he has served since 2012. He is the former executive vice president of the Leadership Project for America and the executive director of the Family Research Council Action (FRCA), the 501(c)(4) arm of the Family Research Council. David also worked for Gammon & Grange, a Virginia law firm; as a defense consultant for the Defense Intelligence Agency, and as a sole practitioner practicing trademark and business contract law.  \nDavid has been interviewed by national and international media, including the NBC Nightly News, Fox News, the Associated Press, CBN News, as well as various radio stations from across the country and around the globe.  Prior to attending law school at both George Mason University School of Law and Chicago-Kent College of Law, David worked as a journalist for the Fox News Service, a Middle East wire service, and WTTG-TV in Washington D.C.\nDavid is co-owner of a record label out of Southern California. He resides in Northern Virginia with Laura, his wife (an attorney), their six children, and two cats.\nWe are privileged to have David share with us Friday evening and participate throughout the retreat. \n
